Chiropractic care is considered one of the safest approaches to treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Unlike surgical procedures, it’s non-invasive and drug-free. In fact, chiropractic treatment can often help reduce or even eliminate the need for pain medications—many of which carry the risk of addiction and serious long-term side effects. By focusing on natural, hands-on techniques, chiropractic offers a safer, more sustainable path to pain relief and healing.

Absolutely. Chiropractic care can be highly beneficial for children, who tend to be more active and, as a result, more susceptible to injuries. Because children are also in a constant state of growth and development, it’s important to address any injuries early to prevent long-term impacts.

Chiropractic treatment offers a gentle, non-invasive alternative to surgery, with little to no recovery time. This allows children to get the care they need quickly and return to their regular activities faster than with many traditional treatment methods.

In most cases, you don't need a referral to see a chiropractor, and many insurance plans let you schedule an appointment directly. However, some insurance providers do require a referral beforehand. To avoid any surprises, it's a good idea to check with your insurance company before your first visit. If you have additional questions or need guidance, feel free to reach out to your chiropractor—they’ll be happy to help.

Chiropractors are qualified to admit and care for patients in both hospital and outpatient settings. Their treatment may involve the use of specialized tools such as X-ray machines, diagnostic labs, and other medical equipment to support accurate assessments and effective care.

Doctors of Chiropractic undergo one of the most intensive educational paths in the healthcare field. Most chiropractic students begin their training after earning a bachelor’s degree—often in a science-related field such as biology or pre-med. Their undergraduate studies typically include courses in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and hands-on lab work.

Once accepted into a chiropractic college, students complete an additional five years of specialized education. Their curriculum includes detailed studies in areas such as anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, neurology, nutrition, radiology, and physical rehabilitation, along with focused chiropractic training in spinal adjustments and manipulation techniques.

By the time they graduate, chiropractic students have logged more than 4,200 hours of classroom instruction, clinical training, and laboratory experience, preparing them to deliver safe, effective, and comprehensive care.
